The Right Reverend Vasily, Bishop of San Fransico and the Diocese of the West, visited St. Luke Orthodox Church in Spokane, from Saturday, October 25, through Wednesday, October 29. The Divine Liturgy was served by Bishop Vasily on Sunday, with the assistance of Deacon Paul Bartlett from Saint Aidan Orthodox Church in Cranbrook, Canada and Fr. Jerome Cwiklinski from Boise, Idaho. Parish clergy also assisted His Grace.

On Monday, area clergy and many Orthodox Christians from other parishes in the area joined us to celebrate the first Feast Day of Righteous Matushka Olga. The day was blessed even more by the presence of a Relic of Saint Anna. Diocesan Chancellor Fr. Kirill Sokolov also join us.
In the afternoon Bishop Vasily and Chancellor Fr. Kirill visited our property to see where the proposed church will be built.

In the evening, we discussed with His Grace our plans for developing the property.

On the following day Bishop Vasily gave three lectures at Whitworth University, including a public lecture attended by a group of parishioners and Whitworth University faculty members.

Before flying out on Wednesday, Bishop Vasily met with the Emily Yocum, the national director of Orthodox Christians for Life.

The time with Bishop Vasily was spiritually uplifting for everyone. We are so blessed that this man in our new bishop!
